Kimi Antonelli continued his remarkable rise with victory in Sunday’s Miami Grand Prix, defeating Lando Norris to deliver another win for Mercedes. The 19-year-old seized track position during the pit-stop phase and then controlled proceedings to the flag for his third consecutive triumph of the 2026 season.
Norris had led and traded the advantage with Antonelli during the race, but the key moment came on pit road, where the Mercedes driver emerged ahead of the McLaren. From there, Antonelli managed the gap to secure a result that further underlines his status as the early-season pacesetter.
Oscar Piastri completed the podium in third for McLaren, while George Russell took fourth for Mercedes. Max Verstappen was fifth for Red Bull, followed by Ferrari teammates Charles Leclerc in sixth and Lewis Hamilton in seventh. Franco Colapinto scored points for Alpine in eighth, with Williams pairing Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon rounding out the top 10 in ninth and 10th respectively.
Antonelli’s win capped a milestone weekend. Earlier, he became the first driver to take pole positions at three consecutive races since Ayrton Senna, and he then made it three wins on the bounce with his Miami success.
The victory stretches Antonelli’s advantage in the Drivers’ Championship to 100 points. He leads Mercedes teammate George Russell on 80, with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc third on 63. Lando Norris sits fourth on 51 ahead of Lewis Hamilton on 49, while Oscar Piastri is sixth on 43. Max Verstappen holds seventh on 26, with Oliver Bearman (17) and Pierre Gasly (16) next, and Liam Lawson completing the top 10 on 10 points.
In the Constructors’ Championship, Mercedes stays on top with 180 points. Ferrari holds second on 112, with McLaren third on 94. Red Bull is fourth with 30, followed by Alpine on 21 and Haas on 18.
